Catering Executives Club Foundation Scholarships
The Club strives to give back to the community on a regular basis through scholarships for aspiring future professionals in the hospitality industry. Annually, through the Catering Executives Club Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, the Catering Executives Club offers local-area hospitality college students the opportunity to apply for scholarships.
Scholarships range in amount from $1,500 to $3,500, with up to $10,000 awarded annually.Please take a moment to read the below rules regarding the foundation scholarship before beginning to complete your application. Application acceptance begins immediately, and are due no later than March 31, 2015. The Foundation Committee will review all applications, and eligible candidates are required to attend an in-person interview on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

Scholarship Requirements and Rules
Candidates for the Catering Executives Club Foundation Scholarships are subject to the following criteria:
– Recipient must have been a student at the post-high school / college level for at least one (1) year.
– Recipient must be an active student in a Hospitality Management program at an accredited institution.
– It is preferred that the recipient show the intent to remain and work in Chicago after graduation.
In addition to the online application, candidates for the Scholarship must also submit the following materials to email@example.com. Applications will not be considered complete without the following documents. Please ensure you put your name in the subject line when sending these documents:
– Transcripts proving enrollment in a Hospitality Management program and showing current GPA
– Copy of candidate’s resume
– Two (2) letters of recommendation (at least one letter must be from an employer in the hospitality industry or college professor)
– Essay (see below essay instructions)
Scholarship candidates must also electronically sign their application acknowledging the rules of the CEC Scholarship, and attend an in-person interview. This year’s scholarship interviews will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 4pm to 7pm. A scheduling assistant is embedded in the application. Once your application has been received in its entirety, you will be contacted with your assigned interview time. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early and dress in business attire.
The Scholarship Essay should be submitted along with your other documentation to firstname.lastname@example.org. The Scholarship essay should be no more than 400 words, typed double spaced, and include your name and college institution in the header. The topic of the essay is:
Please describe why you should be awarded this scholarship; your short and long-term goals following graduation; your strengths and weaknesses, and lastly, what prompted you to seek out a career in the hospitality industry?
